For a long time, she just stops and stares.

Then her fingertips begin to crackle with energy, apparently even without her noticing. One hand giving off crackling electricity, the other more freezing mist.

The energy is only growing.

Mel, you have seconds to defuse this before the entire temple explodes.]

[Meliora puts a hand on Neferti's shoulder, and gives her the single most warming grin she possibly can. It takes every fiber of her being not to say 'Toldjaso.']

...Now isn't the time to talk about this.

[... it almost works. Neferti recognizes, consciously, the wisdom in (her own) words there. This isn't the time.

But this is blasphemy. This is the boogeyman trying to claim sympathy. This is Darth Vader saying he didn't really blow up Alderaan. This is wrong and shouldn't be allowed to be. The rage she has bottled up from before finds its exit here.

But she does know to pull her punch. She raises her hand and lightning rains down upon the murals, with burning and force, and she keeps going, well past the point where it's unreadable, she's going to take out the entire wall it was on.]

[...fuck it, dying isn't permanent anyways. Meliora aims to grab the scroll and THEN get out the gate, using her incredible thief-based talents to get through the rubble. Failing that... she will die with her treasure in her hand.]

Neferti throws an ice spell on the ground in front of Mel to trip her, lifts her up, and bodily flings her through the portal, before charging after her to try to make it in herself. But that took time, and this is shaky at best. If she does manage to make it, it will be barely at best.]
